Allt Y Rheini offers boutique bed and breakfast accommodation in a Grade II listed Georgian house situated in tranquil surroundings just outside of the village of Cilgerran in Pembrokeshire. It is an ideal base for exploring this area.
We have one double and one twin room. The twin bedroom has views over the garden and the 4 poster king sized double bedroom has views over the valley. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in all rooms - a choice of teas is available and fresh milk is provided. The beds have Egyptian cotton sheets and the rooms have a flat screen TV, hairdryer and Wi-Fi access.
There is a guest lounge available to watch TV in or read one of the many books available.
We offer an extensive breakfast menu and all food is served on Wedgwood fine bone china. We are able to cater for most dietary requirements so if you have specific requests for your breakfast with us, e.g gluten free, please let us know at the time of booking and we will do our best to meet them.
Situated on the North Pembrokeshire border, Allt y Rheini is just four miles from Cardigan, one of the small towns throughout the region which still have many individual shops, as well as cafes and restaurants. There is also a cinema, theatre and leisure centre. And of course - fishing!
There is something for everyone in West Wales. Within easy reach of Allt y Rheini, there are a number of centres offering a whole range of outdoor activities including walking, cycling, kayaking and coasteering (to mention but a few). Castles and historic sites are a common feature of the landscape, as are sandy beaches and rolling hills. If you want to see wildlife up close there is no better place. The waters off Pembrokeshire provide ample opportunity to see dolphins, porpoises and grey seals. The Welsh Wildlife Centre, based on the banks of the River Teifi in Cilgerran, is a natural habitat to a vast array of wildlife, with otters and Kingfishers a common sight. In addition to the many species natural to this area, you may even see the small herd of water buffalo brought in every summer to manage the reed beds.
Please note that as Allt y Rheini is a very old, listed house it is not equipped with a lift and we do not have in place special arrangements for disabled guests. From the access door, there are eight stairs up to the guest bedrooms and eleven stairs down to the guest dining room/lounge. The gardens are flat around the house but do include some steep banks. Children should be supervised at all times.
