Beryl is set in 13 acres of parkland, one mile from the centre of the Cathedral City of Wells. Your arrival will be greeted with warmth and courtesy, the epitome of country house hospitality. A welcome afternoon tea/coffee and cake awaits you on arrival and you can wake up to a full Aga cooked breakfast as well as a continental buffet in the morning.
Elegant reception rooms are comfortably furnished with antiques, offering you the chance to relax by warm fires on a cold day, play board games, find a quiet corner to sit and read a favourite book and maybe take a drink from the honesty bar.
The house and garden are open all day for guests use.
The garden is an interesting walk, it contains a Victorian walled garden featuring lovely rose beds and romantic pathways. A gully with an old stone bridge and the most beautiful English Bluebells (when in season April/May), an ornamental pond and various avenues of maturing trees, on the lower lawns.
Traditional garden games are available by request, you cannot beat a game of croquet on the lawn on a warm summers day.
This bed and breakfast is ideally located for exploring the beautiful countryside of the Mendip Hills and is also close to many attractions such as Wells Cathedral, Bishops Palace, Cheddar Caves, Roman Baths and SS Great Britain.
