Plumber Manor offers magnificent accommodation in Sturminster Newton. Our archetypal Dorset country hotel offers a truly memorable experience in a gorgeous location.
In the main house, the luxury accommodation comprises of six very comfortable bedrooms approached via an impressive yet charming gallery, hung with family portraits, typical of fine Jacobean houses of the period. The view from these rooms overlooks the lovely gardens and surrounding Dorset countryside.
A further ten extremely spacious rooms, with window seats overlooking the river and the topiary garden, are in the beautifully restored natural stone barn that surrounds the topiary courtyard. Four of these splendid rooms have access to car parking behind and so these are the ones into which dogs are allowed. Two of the courtyard rooms also have wheelchair access.
Home-made shortbread biscuits will be waiting for you in your room as well as everything you would expect of a fine Dorset country house hotel, i.e. private bathroom, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, direct-dial telephone and hair dryer.

There are so many things to do and places to visit, as well as some wonderful events in Dorset near to Plumber Manor. However, our own beautiful gardens are an attraction in themselves. Magnificent trees, a large, sloping lawn, a white bridge over Divelish Stream (good for Pooh Sticks), a pretty tributary of the River Stour that runs through the peaceful and secluded grounds, and the pig sculptures. There are two sculptures of pigs in the garden and one in the house…Richard loves pigs!
In spring, the colours can be riotous and the birdsong symphonic! In summer, guests love to recline in deck chairs scattered about the well-manicured lawns, listening to the birds, the breeze in the trees, the trickling of the river; pure therapy. The quintessential English country house garden.
