Weeke Farm

Modbury, Ivybridge, South Devon

Facilities

Description

Weeke Farm is a traditional dairy farm that offers bed and breakfast accommodation and can be found just outside the beautiful village of Modbury in South Devon. Modbury offers a range of shops including unusual gift shops that are perfect to browse for holiday mementoes and a good choice of quality restaurants and pubs. In May 2007 Modbury became the first plastic-bag free shopping town in Europe! You can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival and we aim to ensure that your stay with us is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

On the farm we milk 200 cows and rear their calves for herd replacements and beef. We grow grass, maize and wheat to feed the cattle. A brook runs through the farm and attracts wild duck, and herons. There are plenty of small birds in the Devon Banks and buzzards soaring above the hedgerows, perfect for guests who enjoy bird watching.

We have 3 guest rooms available at our bed and breakfast:
Double en suite room with views down the valley.
An en suite family room with double and single beds.
A single room with private bathroom.

We offer a choice of breakfast using local produce and homemade marmalade and preserves Breakfast served 7.30 to 9.00am

Guests are welcome to use the large comfortable lounge with television and DVD player, wonderful views and relaxing ambience.

There are a choice of quality restaurants and pubs in the local area.

There is always something new to see and do in Modbury and its surrounding district. There are numerous signed walks, rights of way and bridle ways that can be explored on foot or bike. There is ample opportunity to go sea fishing or trout fishing in our local rivers including the Yealm and Aune (Avon). These rivers are also migrating points for many birds. There are also several blue-flag beaches with in a five mile drive of the town.

Historic towns such as Totnes, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe are all well worth a visit. Attractions within reach for a day trip include Dartmoor National Park, Pennywell Farm, Plymouth Dome, National Marine Aquarium, Woodlands Adventure Park, the Eden Project and a variety of National Trust properties.
