The Millwater House in Axminster is a beautiful former working sawmill that now offers bed and breakfast accommodation to those who are visiting this stunning area of Devon, set in its own acre of well kept lovely gardens. Our guest house is in a relaxing and peaceful location whilst still being only a short walk to the Axminster town centre.
Within a 5 - 10 minute walk, you will find Axminster shops, pubs and restaurants including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstalls River Cottage Canteen & Deli. On Thursdays, there is a general market in the town square and from May to the end of October there is a lunchtime concert at the Church of St. Mary The Virgin.
We have comfortable en suite rooms with TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, large dining room, ample off-road parking, an undercover area for bicycles and motorbikes and guest garden. One room has a sofa bed.
Breakfast is generally between 8 am and 9 am. Rooms must be vacated by 10.30am on day of departure but you are welcome to leave your car/motorbike here while you visit the town.
Should you arrive by train, we are one mile from Axminster Station in the direction of Chard. Exeter International Airport is just 35 minutes taxi ride from Mill Water House.
The Jurassic Coast and the nearest seaside towns of Lyme Regis and Seaton are only 5 miles away. There are sandy & pebble beaches both good for swimming, fishing and other water sports within easy reach of Axminster.
If you prefer walking or cycling there are numerous footpaths and lanes that criss-cross the countryside enabling you to visit hidden away villages and enjoy stunning views.
