Set high in the Surrey Hills with magnificent views and surrounded by woodland, Long Copse is considered one of the finest of the Arts and Crafts Houses in Surrey. The eminent Victorian artist, George Watts, who lived nearby, thought that "Long Copse was the most beautiful house in Surrey".
In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Long Copse is situated on the South face of the North Downs with views all the way to the South Downs. Eighty miles of footpaths & bridle ways, begin at the entrance gate. To add to the scenic quality we have a small flock of Jacob sheep that graze the fields, provide a yearly crop of lambs and give great enjoyment.
Within easy access are pubs, picturesque villages, such as Shere, lovely churches, & the magnificent National Trust properties of Polesden Lacy, Hatchlands and Clandon. Guildford, Dorking and Horsham provide all the amenities of larger historic towns.
Within an hour or so are many more historic places such as Hampton Court, Chartwell, Hever Castle, Chawton, Sissinghurst, Winchester, Brighton and Chichester, The Weald & South Down Museum at Singleton and, of course, all that London has to offer.
Our aim is to provide warm hospitality, great comfort and home baking in a beautiful setting where guests are made most welcome. We provide fresh local produce and delicious home baking wherever possible. We cater for vegetarians or vegans if requested on booking.
