The Old Vicarage at Rye Harbour offers luxury B&B accommodation in Rye, East Sussex. Our aim is to provide a relaxing and peaceful place to stay while visiting the area, along with benefiting from uninterrupted and extensive views of the river estuary running right down to the sea and across the salt marsh to the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
There are 3 rooms to choose from:
The Marsh Room – A cosy twin room that has been furnished in a French country style.
The Martello Room – This large, bright, double room is named after the Martello Tower that can be seen from the room.
The Harbour Suite - A large double room with a dressing room and a full size bathroom provides spacious guest accommodation.
The Marsh and Martello rooms each include an en suite shower room which has a tower shower with invigorating body jets. A Large flat screen TV, iPod/iPhone docking station with clock radio and Wi-Fi access provide the more modern amenities in all guest bedrooms also tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries are provided. The Harbour Suite is a luxury room and includes a king size bed along with a seating area where there are two armchairs. A luxurious separate dressing room leads from the bedroom into the large bathroom where you will find a free standing roll-top ‘slipper’ bath and a walk in shower.
Breakfast at the Old Vicarage at Rye Harbour is served in the dining room every day between 8.00a.m. and 9.30a.m. Local, fresh produce features strongly with breakfast cooked freshly to order for each guest. Home baked pastries are offered each day.
The village of Rye Harbour has two pubs, a gallery & tea room, local shop and café on the slipway opposite the Lifeboat Station. There is something for everyone in Rye Harbour and all within easy walking distance from The Old Vicarage. For nature lovers, walkers and birdwatchers, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is literally just outside the front door – it is over 1000 acres of SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) with shingle ridges, saline lagoons, saltmarsh, reedbed, pits and grassland containing over 3,700 species. It is a ten minute walk to the sea & shingle beach and only a little further to Camber Castle. Alternately, why not visit one of the many wonderful National Trust or English Heritage properties & gardens in the surrounding area.
