Distant Hills Guest House

Spean Bridge, Inverness-shire

Guided walking breaks available - Visit website for full details.

Distant Hills Guest House is in a stunning part of Inverness-shire, at Spean Bridge and is a fantastic place to stay for those who are looking for a walking holiday. Whether your aim is to tour and explore, walk, climb, cycle, fish, canoe, watch the birds and wildlife or simply relax, Distant Hills will provide you with perfect Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

All guest rooms have been individually designed, providing comfortable and stylish accommodation. Guests can choose from either a twin or a double room, all of which are on the ground floor and many enjoy views of the garden or burn. We have aimed to provide a place where solo travellers couples and older families can rest, relax and recuperate, which is why we accept children over 12 years old only.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so we cook fresh to order using locally sourced produce where possible. Three main meal options are normally available as well as porridge made with Scottish oats and a fresh fruit buffet. Guests are asked to pre-order breakfast the night before. Breakfast is served from 8 am to 9 am, please advise when booking if you require an earlier breakfast.

Our colourful and spacious garden is a real joy on a sunny day and offers an opportunity to wander beside the stream with a pleasant outlook to the distant hills of the Grey Corries and Aonach Mor. You can also sit under the shady arbour and enjoy a cool drink while watching the birds or perhaps you might like to play a game of croquet.

Spean Bridge is a lovely village and is home to an AA Rosette restaurant, restaurant/coffee shop, convenience store as well as two pubs. There are plenty of places to go for evening meals, you are spoilt for choice. We are situated just three miles from the Nevis Range Mountain Experience which includes the mountain gondola with its fantastic views, forest walks and mountain bike trails to suit everyone. Ben Nevis and Loch Ness are each a short drive from Spean Bridge and the village is a good starting point for the North Coast 500 Route.

Spean Bridge is also an ideal base for day trips to:

Fort William.
Ardnamurchan Peninsula.
Fort Augustus and Loch Ness.
Eilean Donan Castle.
Aviemore and the Cairngorm National Park.
