Cae Gwyn is a family-run, farmhouse B&B situated on the outskirts of the village of Penrhyndeudraeth, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. There are beautiful views over the Dwyryd estuary towards Harlech castle, which can be seen silhouetted on the hillside.
Our bed and breakfast rooms are situated at the front of the house and have beautiful views over the Dwyryd Estuary. They are tastefully decorated and have ensuite shower and toilet facilities, as well as a comfortable seating area, a TV/DVD player, and free Wi-Fi. We provide a welcome tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. A hairdryer and towels are also provided. Each room has heating that is easily controlled by you for your comfort and convenience.
There is off road car parking, and we also have lock-up bike facilities for our cyclist guests.
We have a very pleasant and comfortable breakfast room and a tasty and varied breakfast menu and are more than happy to cater for special dietary requirements.
Cae Gwyn is situated in a very private location and yet only a few minutes walk of the shops, pubs, takeaways and restaurants in the village of Penrhyndeudraeth. The town of Porthmadog, which has a larger range of shops and restaurants is just a few minutes drive away. We are within easy reach of the beautiful beaches of Borth y Gest, Black rock sands and Criccieth, to mention just a few, as well as the castles of Criccieth, Harlech, Caernarfon and Conwy. Also close by is the picturesque, italianate village of Portmeirion, made famous by the 1960's tv show The Prisoner. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy sport and recreation, walking, climbing, cycling, fishing, golf, canoeing, bird watching and horse riding are some of the activities available locally.
