Wheelgate Bed and Breakfast is in the heart of England's beautiful Lake District. We are situated in a peaceful location just a stone's throw from Coniston Water, surrounded by a gorgeous lake and mountain scenery of Coniston in Cumbria.
Our 7 individually styled bedrooms include two singles, a four-poster, 2 suites, a king and twin-bedded room. All are en suite and come with a shower, comfortable pocket sprung bed, TV with Freeview, all rooms have very high-speed internet, tea and coffee making facilities, big fluffy towels and Pure Lakes toiletries.
The highly acclaimed Wheelgate Breakfast caters for all tastes and appetites and uses homemade and locally sourced produce whenever possible. Choose from a tempting selection of cereals, yoghurts, juice and fresh fruit. The Wheelgate Grill is freshly prepared to order and features homemade Cumberland sausage and home-cured bacon from Melville Tyson (our local butcher) and of course local free-range eggs. For the hungry, the grill makes a superb Text taken from thebandbdirectory.co.uk start to the day, but if you prefer something lighter we also offer Scottish smoked salmon with scrambled egg, natural smoked haddock with a poached egg or a Manx kipper. There is always plenty of hot toast made with our delicious homemade bread.
For those interested in walking or visiting local attractions and beauty spots, we are happy to lend guide books and maps of the area and if you are unfortunate enough to get caught out by the Lakeland weather we have a utility room for drying wet coats and boots. For keen cyclists, we can also provide secure covered bike storage.
