The Old Ross House, which is still standing, is L shaped dated from 1780 and is surrounded by cow fields, byres and breathtaking countryside. The owners Oriel and Nicholas Hill-Wilkinson have been putting up guests in the utmost comfort for more than 20 years. The welcome book says it all. People come back time and time again for peace, relaxation and wonderful cooking.
The bedrooms are lovely with modern furniture and brass beds, tasteful furnishings and stunning views. Original pine floors and fireplaces have been restored giving the hall, dining room and sitting room a bright and warm feel.
The drawing room with barley wallpaper is simply beautiful, boasting a huge oak dinning table and spectacular antiques. And once you’ve eaten, you can relax in the snug living room with open peat fire and comfy armchairs.
Forest Park is an incredible venue with beautiful walks. There is a stunning lake where you could go paddling or on a mini-cruise. The main centre houses the kids adventure park, boda borg and is the starting point of the tree canopy walk. Zipit can also be found at Forest Park for the more adventurous souls.
