Chatford House offers bed and breakfast accommodation located just outside of Bayston Hill and close to the Shropshire county town of Shrewsbury. Our historic 18th Century farmhouse is filled with charm and character and is an excellent base for those wishing to explore the area.
All of the bedrooms are situated on the first floor of the house and are equipped with hospitality trays, hairdryers, a selection of toiletries and flat screen TVs and soft towels.
The Lawley, our master bedrooms offers our guests plenty of space and the comfort of a luxurious king size brass bed dressed in Egyptian cotton bed linen. Leading down two steps is its original oak floored bathroom with both power shower and corner bath, offering views of garden and the Wrekin. Due to the size of this room we are able to offer this as a family room with a fold down bed, travel cot, baby bath and high chair which will help you travel light!
The Lyth (Superking) and The Wrekin (Twin) Bedrooms both have en suite shower rooms and have all the character you would expect in a country cottage. Facing east with a good view of the Wrekin, you may wish to open your curtains to welcome in the beautiful sunrise. The en suites are well lit with natural light and again are fitted with power showers.
Breakfast is served in the dining room where a lovely roaring fire waits for you. We believe that to live healthily you must enjoy good quality food, we try to source as much of this as possible from our local butcher who supports Shropshire Farmers with animal welfare high on their agenda. The eggs we serve are free range and as the soft fruits ripen in the garden we add them to our fresh fruit salad and during late summer and early autumn apple compotes are on the menu, fresh from our orchard.
For those who want the great outdoors, you couldnít be better placed, within walking distance of Lyth Hill, from the top of which you can admire the panoramic views, stretching form the North Shropshire plain to the impressive South Shropshire Hills: the Wrekin, Lawley, Caradoc, Long Mynd, The Devilís Chair and Pontesford Hill. The Shropshire Way passes over Lyth Hill and walkers and cyclists find our home a useful resting place.
