The Sandstone Barn B&B is a charming 17th Century building that offers bed and breakfast accommodation in Shifnal, just outside of Cosford in Shropshire. Our guest house is traditionally decorated, has beamed walls & exposed oak timbers.
The upstairs is for the exclusive use of B&B guests and includes a spacious beamed relaxing room with easy chairs and bookcases. The barn is a quiet B&B and has a double room with en suite bathroom. Facilities include a TV and a hot beverage tray.
Special care is taken to provide a quality breakfast, with bacon and sausages locally-sourced. Guests help themselves to cereals, juices, and organic yoghurts. Ground coffee and a selection of teas are available. Breakfast is served downstairs in the oak gallery, where Ralph Young’s collection of artefacts, curios and prints is on display.
Guests have unlimited access to the woodland walk, a private 25 acre nature reserve, which lies alongside the farm. The walk snakes through a valley of ancient deciduous woodland and features overhanging sandstone cliffs, a stream, bridges and wildlife pond and weir. For romantics, an ivy-clad watermill ruin will provide poetic inspiration!
The Sandstone Barn B & B is situated 8 miles west of Wolverhampton and 5 miles south-east of Telford, on the A464, in East Shropshire. The M54 (junction 3) is three miles to the north.
