The Wychwood Inn offers guest accommodation situated in Shipton-Under-Wychwood in Oxfordshire. Formally a 16th Century Coaching Inn, the Wychwood Inn has been lovingly refurbished to offer wonderful accommodation.
We have a range of beautiful en suite rooms available, all furnished in an individual style. Our rooms come with modern en suite bathrooms which include mirrors with shaver sockets, mirror demisters and lights. Facilities include a flat-screen TV, complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee with fresh milk, water and homemade flapjacks. Extra pillows and blankets are available.
You can enjoy a drink or two in our traditional public house. The elegant but traditional pub offers many local real ales and beers, a selection of mixers and a choice of world wines. We also provide a large selection of spirts, such as gin and single malt whisky.
We offer a seasonal menu at breakfast, lunch and dinner. A traditional roast is served on Sundays. Our talented kitchen team offers sumptuous, locally sourced dishes.
Burford is only four miles away and is a beautiful Cotswold town, voted by Forbes magazine as the seventh most desirable place to live in Europe! Nearby Oxford is a major draw for tourists with lots to explore – whether it's the spires, colleges and gardens of the universities, museums, theatres or shopping. You may even want to try punting on the river. Oxford is a city full of history and things to do.
For walkers, Shipton is well placed to explore the long distance walks of the Oxfordshire Way and the Cotswold Way, as well as a wide variety of shorter walks along the Evenlode and Windrush valleys. Many local bookshops have guides to the walks in the area. Cyclists are also well provided for with clearly marked cycle routes exploring the Cotswolds.
