Easington House is a very English guest house offering comfortable accommodation and serving traditional English breakfast and afternoon tea. It is centuries old and reputed to be one of the oldest buildings in Banbury. Originally an old farmhouse built mainly of the local Horton Stone, it is of particular interest to overseas visitors.
We offer a selection of single, double, twin and family rooms, all of which are en-suite and are individually decorated and furnished. The rooms include digital flat screen TVs, hairdryers, a hospitality tray, free Internet access, direct-dial telephones and quality toiletries. One of the doubles is a four-poster bed.
Breakfast includes a full English consisting of British bacon and locally-reared and made sausages, free-range eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding and fried bread. There is a good selection of cereals, a choice of juices and English Organic yoghurts. There is also fresh fruit, British and local jams, preserves and honey. A Continental style breakfast is available for guests preferring something lighter, as well as options such as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, and croissants.
We serve traditional afternoon tea most days throughout the year after 4pm for our residents and we also welcome outside customers. For groups and larger parties, you are advised to let us know in advance.
Easington House is situated on the edge of the town, a few minutes walk from the centre, where you can find shops, pubs, restaurants and the Castle Quay shopping centre. This is a great location, making an ideal base for exploring the local areas, such as the City of Oxford with its dreaming spires (direct trains into Oxford approx 20 mins.) and the Cotswolds, including the delightful towns of Chipping Norton, Burford, Moreton-in-Marsh and Bourton-on-the-Water.
Also nearby are Woodstock (including Blenheim Palace), Stratford-upon-Avon for Shakespeare, Bicester Village Shopping Outlet, Silvertone Racing Circuit, Waddesdon Manor and Broughton Castle. There are also some beautiful public houses located within the pretty Oxfordshire countryside, which is also perfect for walking and other outdoor pursuits. We are also well placed for the M40 with good access to Warwick Castle, the NEC and Birmingham Airport.
