The Red Lion Hotel

Weobley, Hereford, Herefordshire

The Red Lion Hotel dates from around 1450 and it is located in the Herefordshire village of Weobley. The hotel provides accommodation, restaurant, lounge bar and a bowling green.

The lounge bar, the main hallway and part of the restaurant are all original 15th century, as are the King Charles and John Birch bedrooms. The majority of the exposed timbers in these parts are almost 600 years old. Other areas of the Hotel have been added at various times from 17th century.

The hotel was originally built as a house although there is evidence of some early commercial activity either as a shop or an Inn. It is believed that the dressed stone which forms the side pillars of the fireplace may have come from Weobley Castle.

There are a range of guest bedroom types available and all have a TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

The former bowling green makes a wonderful garden for Red Lion guests. You could hire it for a private BBQ, summer party or fund-raising event.

There are lots to do in the area surrounding the hotel from visiting the city of Hereford or taking a stroll in the beautiful countryside.
