Steeped in history, the hotel was built in the early 16th century during the reign of King Henry VIII. Its first owner, William Rede I, became the first Lord of the Manor of Beccles after the Dissolution of the Monasteries. The current building preserves many original features from that period, including the vaulted oak-beamed ceilings in the second-floor accommodation. These historic elements are complemented by tasteful and thoughtful décor, creating a charming and inviting atmosphere.
