The Bedingfeld Arms

Oxborough, King's Lynn, Norfolk

Facilities

Description

The Bedingfeld Arms is a country pub with rooms which is situated in the heart of a peaceful, rural part of West Norfolk known as 'The Brecks'. Located near King's Lynn, in the tiny village of Oxborough opposite National Trust Oxburgh Hall, it has access to a wealth of nature walks in and around Thetford Forest and amongst ancient heathlands, with their unique flora and fauna, including pingos.

A coaching inn since 1783, our popular and independent pub incorporates the best attributes of a local community pub with the comfort and luxury of a coaching inn. As a free house, it offers a handpicked selection of cask ales. Alternative tastes are catered for with a tempting wine list, a range of freshly ground coffee, exotic teas and mocktails, perfect for designated drivers! There is also a restaurant with three dining rooms.

Ten individually styled en suite bedrooms are available, all with power showers and one suite with a bath as well. All have luxury 1500 sprung mattresses and highest quality linen/towels, Flat screen TVs, Text taken from thebandbdirectory.co.uk free wifi, tea and coffee. We are dog friendly with dogs welcome in some of the rooms and in the bar area (with tables for owners to eat meals).

The five rooms in the main building (The Penthouse Suite, The Bedingfeld Suite with 4 poster, The Red Room with 4 poster , The Blue Room and the Green Room) are the premium larger rooms and our 5 Coach rooms offers fantastic value and are dog friendly. You can experience a truly luxurious experience in the Penthouse on the top floor which is our largest room and boasts a full size sitting room. The room has a bathroom with both a large claw bath and separate walk-in power shower to complete the indulgent experience.

For breakfast, there is an ample choice ranging from eggs benedict to full English, fresh fruit salad, cereal, toast and local honey. A state of art espresso machine adds to the choice, however, it costs a little more. Breakfast is now served in the recently built Oak and Stone Garden room and is made using as many fresh, local ingredients as possible. We are a family run business linking our farm with the menu - recently our Aberdeen Angus herd has made our steak even more special and unique. We support local suppliers as much as possible and we are always on the lookout for more.

We have two elegant restaurant rooms either side of the central bar area. Each seating area sits up to 22 people. You can also savour a delicious meal in the dog friendly bar which has more tables and a toasty fire. The Oak and Stone room is beautifully styled with solid glass walls and sliding fully length doors which overlooks the garden. This area can seat up to 30 people and is available for private dining. In the summer months you can dine on the large south facing garden or under the oak veranda is you prefer the shade.

The Bedingfeld Arms is ideal for combining a visit to the National Trust's Oxburgh Hall which is opposite and attracts 88,000 tourists per year. This historic 15th century moated manor house with formal gardens and where many seasonal events are organised, is just a stone's throw from the Bedingfeld's own spacious and attractive south facing garden, with the unusual statue of John Lennon (or Rock Jesus) catching the attention of passers-by.

The Bedingfeld Arms is the perfect staging post for a visit to the famous North Norfolk coast as well as an introduction to a hidden and undiscovered part of South West Norfolk. There are many local attractions such as Oxborough Fishing Lakes, Didlington Plant Nurseries, Gooderstone Water Gardens, Extreme Adventure, local auctions, Swaffham Museum, West Acre Theatre and even 3 local golf courses. Thetford Forest is 20 mins away and is perfect for hiring bicycles.
