The Garth Hotel

Grantown-on-Spey, Morayshire, Highlands

Facilities

Description

The Garth Hotel, built in 1769, has long been a cornerstone of Grantown-on-Spey. Originally a highland woollen mill, it has also housed Queen Victoria’s favourite author and served as the residence for the town's physicians and ministers. Today, it’s a vibrant and relaxed hospitality venue. Ideally located, the Garth Hotel is just a 2-minute walk from the museum, town square and high street & only 5 minutes from the Craig Maclean Leisure Centre and Grantown-on-Spey's 18-hole golf course. It's the perfect base for exploring Grantown, Badenoch and Strathspey.

The Garth Hotel is just 15 miles from Aviemore, making it an ideal destination for both short and long stays. Our 18 comfortable en-suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated, with some offering views of the famous Grantown-on-Spey square. Text taken from thebandbdirectory.co.uk We are a dog-friendly hotel and several ground-floor rooms are specially designed for guests with limited mobility. Rooms available are:

Our restaurant, 1769, features daily changing menus that highlight the finest local ingredients from the Cairngorms. Peter and his team of young, passionate chefs, all with experience from some of Scotland's top venues, bring a touch of class and flair to the Garth. Our dining experience is well-rounded and approachable, with simplicity at its heart.

No visit to the heart of Speyside would be complete without sampling our famous hospitality and spirits. Our beer garden has become a popular spot, perfect for watching the world go by. It’s enjoyable in all weathers, a little snow transforms the garden, and with the warmth of open-fire heating, it’s an experience not to be missed.

There is so much to see and do in the area, including:

Grantown Museum.
Anagach Woods.
Tormore Distillery.
