Nolton Stables is superbly located to enable our visitors to take full advantage of the spectacular beach riding along with hacks through the visually dramatic coastal fields and our own private, landscaped valley. There are four beaches within a two mile hack of the stables.
Lovingly restored and decorated to a very high standard, this period property with medieval vaulted ceilings and many original details, sits within its own walled gardens overlooking the ancient church of St Madoc. First mentioned as a Rectory in 1352, painstakingly restored to it's former glory using lime based mortars, plasters and paints, this house is full of character and interest. Glebe Hose is situated in the heart of the village of Nolton.
Within the grounds we have a good size gravel car park.
All the bedrooms have lovely views, comfortable beds, digital radios and a variety of books to fill in those quieter moments. We have five bedrooms in Glebe House which we have named after the local Islands.
We have a large selection of horses and ponies, and take pride in our ability to provide suitable mounts for needs as diverse as a young child who is experiencing horse riding for the first time, through to those who have owned their own horse - and of course all those in between!
What ever the destination of each ride, we all hack gently down the country lanes together – enabling groups of families and friends to spent at least part of the ride together. Enroute the staff (many of which are the Owen family) are spread through the ride, and are there to teach and help, you and offer tips and reminders to those who have may be ridden before, enabling you to have a more enjoyable experience. When we reach either the beach or woodland we split up into many smaller groups of abilities i.e. walkers, trotters, rusty caterers and so on. We try our hardest to make sure every body gets to ride to their perceived ability.
Novice riders are most suited to either the steady walk and trot 1 hour ride to the woodland or both of the 1.5 hours rides.
Pembrokeshire is renowned for its stunning and diverse scenery – from the dramatic Preseli Hills to the awe inspiring cliffs and gorgeous sandy beaches fringing the counties rolling farmland.
For over forty years the family have enjoyed helping visitors explore the spectacular local coastal and inland scenery of Pembrokeshire. Many people return year after year to renew the experience of riding through the surf along stunning beaches, meandering along the coastal fields and exploring our privately owned wooded valley.
