The Skirrid Mountain Inn is one of the oldest pubs in Wales. At the inn we offer guest accommodation, good food & drink along with good company. Our inn is situated in Llanvihangel Crucorney a small village just off the A465 near Abergavenny in Monmouthshire.
The history of our inn can be traced back as far as the Norman Conquest. It has been well maintained and has much historic charm such as real fires, stone walls and wooden panelling. Our guest accommodation consists of three very tastefully furnished en suite rooms, 2 with 4 poster beds and one cottage bedroom. The cottage bedroom consists of 1 double bed with en suite bathroom, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. All of our guest rooms have lovely country views and you can wander down to the bar and relax over a drink and a meal. With no driving, it's just up the stairs to bed. What could be better!
Our inn has an ancient wood panelled restaurant where you can sit and enjoy delicious home cooked food. There are fireplaces with real fires, two bars, one with a pool table and an old ship's bell for calling last order.
There are plenty of walks and points of interest in this beautiful part of Wales. The Skirrid Fawr walk is within easy reach and weaves through woods and open mountains, you will be walking up quite a steep gradient in order to get to the top – but the views are worth it! No matter your fitness level there is a walk in the area to suit all, along with the opportunity to enjoy some breath taking views.
