Description

Travellers Rest offers is a traditional country pub serving traditional country food and offering. comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. We are located close to the village of East Pennard near Shepton Mallet in Somerset. The B&B was built in 1790 and used to be a coaching inn and is now a traditional country pub offering B&B.

There are two twin bedrooms available that are located in the converted hayloft above the old stables. Both of the guest rooms offer the following:

En suite shower.
TV.
DVD player.
Hairdryer.
Tea & coffee making facilities.

A freshly cooked breakfast is served in the restaurant from 7.30am. Guests can also dine in the restaurant at lunch time or in the evening. There are a range of traditional pub meals available all of which are homemade and cooked fresh to order. Some of the food available includes shepherd’s pie, scampi, lasagne, jacket potatoes and much more.

Travellers Rest also offers a varied selection of local ciders such as Fosseway Cider, Badgers Spit, Somerset Glory, Stones Bittersweet and Singing Cider together with cask ales and a wide choice of wines and spirits. We have a choice of 18 different ciders available.

Guests are more than welcome to use the stunning garden during their stay. In the garden are benches and sun parasols where you can enjoy a drink.

Guests can visit Shepton Mallet where there are a range of shops including a supermarket and a coffee shop. Shepton Mallet also has an indoor play centre and a large garden centre. Guests can also travel to the nearby town of Glastonbury where you can walk up the tor or visit the abbey. The city of Wells can be reached in around twenty minutes where guests can see the stunning cathedral and wander around the market.

Other great places to visit in the local area include Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge, Clarks Village, the Fleet Air Museum and Haynes International Motor Museum.
