Ashcroft Bed & Breakfast is situated in the pretty Dorset village of Stoborough which is just outside of Wareham. Whatever the season Purbeck has something for everyone; whether they are motorists, cyclists, walkers or bird watchers. There are long sandy beaches for the children, sports for the energetic, historical monuments for those who wish to explore, plus the spectacular scenery of the World Heritage Jurassic coastline means there is always something to do.
Our bed and breakfast has three guest rooms and we can cater for both short breaks and long term guests. No matter how long youíre staying with us for and whether it is for business or pleasure, every effort is made to ensure that our guests feel right at home. The first floor guest rooms enjoy superb views over the surrounding heath land, owned by the RSPB, and the Purbeck Hills. Each guest room has a TV and radio as well as tea and coffee making facilities.
Guests are welcome to relax at any time in the garden or the large lounge/dining room (where breakfast is served) that overlooks the patio and garden to the rear of the house. We also have our own bee hives and produce local honey for sale.
Wareham is built on a site dating back to the Iron Age and is only a short walk or drive away. Iy is surrounded on 3 sides by old Saxon earth walls, with over 200 buildings of historical and architectural interest. In Wareham there are shops to supply most requirements, together with a market on Thursdays and Saturdays. Wareham has Britainís last remaining gas-lit Victorian cinema - The Rex, which has been fully restored. There are many good restaurants and pubs in Wareham and the surrounding villages.
