Yoah Cottage is a bed and breakfast located in the attractive village of West Knighton, 6 minutes drive from Dorchester in Dorset. We have been providing b&b accommodation for up to 4 adults and 1 child for over 15 years, and our accommodation is the perfect base to explore this wonderful part of the country.
Our b&b is a thatched cottage built of stone and cob with exposed beams and delightful inglenook fireplaces. The old rubs shoulders with the new - a mixture of antique furniture and modern comfort.
We only take one booking at a time so that guests have the whole of the early 18th century cottage (originally the shepherd's) to themselves, - the two bedrooms, the bathroom, a small ante-room for tea and coffee making and a cosy sitting room with log fire.
There is a friendly village pub with an excellent restaurent next door. Breakfasts are generous and varied with homemade jams and marmalades and fruit from the garden. Our b&b is closed during the Christmas and Easter periods.
In this Western part of Dorset, a lovely area, you will find Thomas Hardy's birthplace and Max Gate, the house he built for himself and lived in for the last 40 years of his life (both National Trust), and Stinsford Church where his heart is buried, all within 3 miles of Yoah Cottage, Dorchester.
