Captain Bligh Guest House is one of the most historic houses in London and can be found opposite the parks of the Imperial War Museum, near Westminster Bridge in Central London. It is a stunning Georgian home where Captain William Bligh lived, after his return from that ill-fated voyage.
Built in 1780, this London terrace house has been beautifully renovated (following damage in the 2nd World War) and recently refurbished to offer beautiful guest accommodation that is ideal for both business and leisure guests. There are 5 separate suites available, each of which is self-contained and with their own unique charm and appeal. We are rather different from the usual B&B as guests have the ability to cook in ‘at home’ to avoid the expense and hassle of eating out every day. All of our guest quarters have ensuite facilities, and include a Freeview TV, Wi-Fi access and a welcome starter pack of breakfast provisions such as:
Cereal, Muesli, porridge, and many basic provisions for cooking.
Captain Bligh House is in a fun and safe part of London and close to the wonderfully vibrant South Bank complex with its exciting restaurants, theatres and street entertainers. We are only a 10 minute walk to the London Eye, 20 minutes to Covent Garden or an 8 minute bus ride to Piccadilly and London’s famous West End.
Quite close by are many grocery stores, shops and markets , including the world famous Borough Market which is situated in the historic village of Southwark, just a 20 minute walk or a quick bus ride away. You can enjoy browsing the stalls and buy an immense selection of different foods to bring home or even eat there!
