Petersfield, Hampshire

Facilities

Description

80 Rushes Road is a small semi-detached house that offers bed and breakfast accommodation located in Petersfield, Hampshire. The B&B has a sunny garden where visitors can have breakfast or a cup of tea. The bed and breakfast is two minutes' walk from Petersfield Railway Station (1 hour to London and Waterloo, 5 mins walk from Petersfield's Bedford Rd Business Estate and 30 minutes to Portsmouth).

Our guest room is a quiet bedroom (either a single, twin or a double bed) with television, radio and tea & coffee making facilities.

Breakfast Text taken from thebandbdirectory.co.uk is included within the room rate and we offer a menu that is varied suiting all guests. We have continental, vegetarian and full English available, ensuring that you are set up for the day. We use local produce and homemade jams, with packed lunches available for those who ask in advance.

Petersfield is well placed as a sightseeing base and is now part of the South Downs National Park. We are convenient for Jane Austen's home at Chawton, where she wrote Pride and Prejudice and near Winchester, where she is buried. Winchester, the ancient capital of Wessex, has its famous cathedral (where Mary Tudor married King Philip of Spain), college, castle and King Arthur's Round Table. The Historic Ships and Dockyard at Portsmouth are a short journey by train or road and Chichester and Goodwood Race Course are also half an hour away. As well as excellent shopping and a lovely cathedral, Chichester has its famous Festival Theatre. National Trust properties such as Uppark and Hinton Ampner are near Petersfield with Petworth House within half an hour's drive.

For walkers and cyclists, the South Downs Way is nearby as well as lots of shorter walks to include a pub lunch. The countryside around Petersfield is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Channel is half an hour away with seaside walks and seafood restaurants. Ferries to the Isle of Wight leave from Portsmouth Harbour Railway Station.
