Wickham Manor is an historic property offering truly majestic bed and breakfast accommodation in Winchelsea, East Sussex. Built in the 16th century and now owned by the National Trust, for the past eleven years it has been the family home of Sally and Mason Palmer and the centre of their 750 acre farm.

The Tudor room has a super kings size four poster bed and en suite bathroom with bath. The room has tea/coffee facilities, television, fluffy towels, hair dryer, wardrobe and pampering goodies in the bathroom.
The William Penn Suite is a room that is ideal for families and couples alike. It has a King size bed and large sitting area with television, but most our guests just enjoy relaxing on the sofa and enjoying the view.
New Gate Room has a four poster double bed and is a great place to relax and enjoy the views of surrounding countryside and sea views. This is room has a private bathroom with bath, accessed on a private landing. The room has tea/coffee facilities, television, fluffy towels, hair dryer, wardrobe and pampering goodies in the bathroom.
Close by is the historic town of Winchelsea, population just 400, with its two pubs, PO, little shop and the newly opened (Oct 2009) Winchelsea Farm Kitchen, which incorporates a butcher selling local meat, a delicatessen with wonderful selected cheeses cold meats, a wine shop and a cafe. St. Thomas is a fragment of a once massive old parish church. It was founded in 1292 by Edward the First and is one of Confederation of Cinque Ports, raised to defend the realm against the detested French.
The historic town of Rye is only a few miles away and can fill a day, looking in shops, eating in tea rooms, walking the cobbled streets and admiring the local architecture.
Wickham Manor provides a perfect base to visit the ancient towns of Rye, Battle and Hastings and is within easy reach of Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, Pashley Manor, Scotney, Bodiam, Hever and Leeds Castles as well as Canterbury Cathedral.
Dover and the Channel Tunnel are not far if you exhaust all the local sites and fancy a day trip to France.
