Our island beaches are renowned for their unspoilt beauty and tranquillity with mile upon mile of silver sands. The machair habitat which borders our beaches is a constant profusion of colour.
To the east of the island are majestic hills although you don't need to be an experienced climber as they are accessible to most. From the top of the hill you can see as far as Barra to the South, Skye to the East, Harris to the North and on a clear day St Kilda out to the west. The island is noted for its bird life and nowhere else on the planet will you hear the rasping of the elusive corncrake. Loch Druidbeg Nature Reserve is only a couple of miles from the house.
