Dornoch Castle is located in the historic town of Dornoch, Sutherland. This Scottish castle is one of the most perfect wedding venues in Scotland and has seen many a customer visit us time and time again afterwards for a couples romantic weekend, a family holiday or even as their choice of accommodation whilst away with work. Our aim is to ensure that your stay at our Highland hotel is an enjoyable and memorable one and that all of our guests receive the best Scottish hospitality.
We currently have two guest rooms which are classed as deluxe. Both of these special rooms have feature bathrooms with spa bath and are in the oldest part of the castle. We offer superior rooms in the unique 15th & 18th century sections of the property and also in the modern garden wing. These rooms have all been refurbished with careful thought to their original atmosphere. All of our guest rooms overlook the walled gardens and are all en suite with shower or bath and shower and have twin or super king beds.
Whether you want that special candle lit dinner in the Garden Restaurant which overlooks the formal walled gardens, or a more informal meal in comfortable surroundings in front of the roaring log fire, in the 11ft fireplace which was formerly the Bishop's kitchen in the 1500's there is an excellent choice of dishes.
Dornoch Castle is ideally situated for golfing enthusiasts and beginners alike with the famous Royal Dornoch Championship Golf Course only a stone’s throw from the castle, it is the third oldest golf course in the world after St Andrews and Leith and is still one of the finest. It runs along the curve of the coast behind the sand hills overlooking the great golden beaches around the bay. One of the top 20 in the world and only a 10 minute walk away.
