Morangie B & B (3 stars) is situated in Tain, Ross-shire, 40 minutes north of Inverness on the nearby A9, and is a good stopping off place if you are going to or coming from Orkney or doing the bicycle ride from John O'Groats to Lands Ends (north or south). From us you can travel about the Highlands of Scotland - many of our visitors stay for a few days and use our B&B as a base to explore, travelling north to Dornoch Cathedral and Dunrobin Castle, or driving up to Wick and Thurso; going west to Strathpeffer, Ullapool, Lochinver or Shin Falls; or visiting Inverness, Culloden Battlefied or Loch Ness to the south. You come home each night to a comfortable and welcoming room with the prospect of an excellent breakfast the next morning. We now have wireless internet access available for guests.
We have three bedrooms: a family room, a twin and a double. The twin and family rooms are front facing with a magnificent view over the Dornoch Firth. The double room is at the back of the house with a garden view. There is also a small sitting room for guests. All three rooms have their own fridges.
The room prices include a full Scottish breakfast which is served between 7.30 and 9.00am (earlier by arrangement). Free range local eggs from the butcher and home baked bread are features of our menu.
Tain is the oldest Royal Burgh in Scotland and presently has a population of about 4,500. It repays exploration on foot as there are many interesting old buildings. Tain through Time, one of the main tourist attractions, offers the visitors a personal CD guided tour around St. Duthas Collegiate Church and the main buildings of the town. Tain through Time is situated just off the main street and is well sign posted.
