Turfhills House B&B is situated in a beautiful part of Scotland, just outside the town of Kinross which has lovely views over Loch Leven. Our bed and breakfast is over 200 years old and is a tranquil retreat that is nestled in its own large informal and secluded grounds of around. We are an ideal base for those who want to explore the many attractions throughout the county of Kinross.
Our bed and breakfast is furnished in appropriate and impressive period style and offers accommodation of a high standard. We can offer a family room, with a double and 2 single antique beds and period furnishings, with en suite facilities. Double rooms also offer an antique beds and furnishings with bathroom facilities.
A hearty breakfast is included within the room rate and is served in our dining room each morning. It is made using delicious wholesome foods and organic & local produce wherever possible.
Turfhills House is excellently located for touring Scotland, with immediate access to the major roads network of central Scotland and within easy reach of Perth (20 minutes), Edinburgh (30 minutes), St Andrews (40 minutes), Stirling (30 minutes) and Glasgow (50 minutes).
Loch Leven and historic Lochleven Castle, administered by Historic Scotland, is just a few minutesí drive away. The short boat shuttle to Lochleven Castle, site of the imprisonment of Mary Queen of Scots, is a star attraction, as are the historic Kinross House Gardens. Loch Leven is an internationally famous bird reserve and the RSPB have extensive facilities at nearby Vane Farm. Ospreys, geese, swans and ducks and other birdlife are in abundance at Loch Leven. Walkers and cyclists will find the local Loch Leven Heritage Trail is a great way to check out the natural heritage the area has to offer.
