The Cross Keys Hotel is a privately owned and run characterful, small hotel, set in the heart of the picturesque and historic town of New Galloway, at the top of Loch Ken and on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park.
The Cross Keys Hotel has six double bedrooms, three twin rooms and one triple room.
Our only ground floor room is the Galloway Room. This large room offers many extras including luxury bath robes, wine, nibbles and mineral water. This room is much in demand for celebrations such as honeymoons, anniversaries and birthdays or, just for that extra special break.
All the bedrooms at the Cross Keys Hotel are en suite and have a TV/DVD player, hospitality trays, hairdryers, ironing facilities, FREE Wi-Fi, bathrobes and toiletries. Don’t forget, you can order Champagne or wine to be waiting on ice for you upon arrival.
We feature Scottish produce wherever possible and are fortunate to be situated within an area that has such an abundance of locally produced food. Fish and shell fish straight from the harbours on the Solway Coast, Venison from the hills around us and feathered Game from the local Estates. Local lamb, Aberdeen Angus Beef, farmhouse cheeses, locally smoked salmon and meats and freshly harvested fruit and vegetables are all available to our Chef.
To complement the menu at the Cross Keys Hotel is the wine list which features carefully selected Old and New World wines and quality vintages. And to round off that perfect meal we have a good range of Port and Cognac and Brandy. Then, of course, there is the extensive range of good Scottish Malt Whisky’s to try.
The area around the New Galloway is known as The Glenkens which is a unique area of natural beauty with endless activities, things to see & do and a must for anyone exploring the Dumfries and Galloway region of south west Scotland.
Situated north of Castle Douglas on the eastern fringe of the Galloway Forest Park, this unique area covering the Ken Valley surrounding the famous Loch Ken consists of the small scenic villages of Balmaclellan, Carsphairn, New Galloway, St Johns Town of Dalry, Parton and Corsock.
The Glenkens is an oasis of natural beauty and activities which provide many things to see and do. It is an ideal base for a holiday in Scotland whether activity based or just simply to relax and enjoy the majestic beauty of this diverse area.
