The Weigh Inn is situated in the Burnside area of Thurso. Our inn overlooks the Pentland Firth and has panoramic views over the Orkney Islands. It is an excellent base for those wishing to explore the magnificent county of Caithness.

Within the hotel there are 16 en suite deluxe bedrooms. Facilities include telephones, Internet access, Freeview television, hospitality tray, hair dryers, iron and ironing board. We have basic and standard rooms in annex buildings in the hotel grounds. These rooms are not star graded & are budget accommodation. They are small, but practical and have TV and tea/coffee facilities. All rooms are en suite.

The Lodges, with en suite bath/shower rooms, situated within the 2 acres of well appointed hotel grounds, also boast televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. They are ideal for the budget traveler. There is no Wi-Fi access in these rooms.

The hotel has 3 Bars within this complex. The Ashes Bar is designed with a sports theme, serving Bar Lunches and Evening Meals and with full coverage of all major Sports events is the ideal venue for any sports enthusiasts. The Ashes bar offers superb bar lunches and evening Meals. The Pentland Suite with its own bar offering total exclusivity to that private and personal gathering.
We also have Marnies lounge & conservatory which has views of the Pentland Firth. This can be booked for large groups or private functions.

Thurso, the most northerly town on the Scottish mainland, is a busy cosmopolitan and self sufficient community of over 10,000 people situated at the mouth of the river Thurso. It traces its origins and takes its name from the old viking language, when it was named THOR-SAA, which translated means Thunder River. Thurso offers visitors a varied and entertaining selection of amenities to choose from, such as surfing, windsurfing, sea angling, water skiing, sailing, swimming, bowls, golf, tennis, boating, loch & river fishing, rough and clay pigeon shooting and pony trekking.
