Brathay Lodge is a family run Ambleside bed and breakfast built around 1890 and is very well located for walkers, mountain bikers and golfers visiting the Lake District. Ambleside is an ideal Lake District holiday location, former home to Wordsworth, Rankin & Beatrix Potter.
We are situated ten minutes from Lake Windermere, with gift shops, attractive walks, lake cruises and active water sports. Around Ambleside there are numerous local scenic walks and places to visit: The houses of Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, The Grizedale Forest, Numerous National Trust properties including Castlerigg Stone circle and Rheged visitor centre to mention just a few. Ambleside has many restaurants and bars offering different types of cuisine.
We have 19 rooms available all with king size beds, these are made up of standard, superior (ground floor, pet friendly included), twin, triple, quadruple, family rooms (sleeps 3-5) and four poster suites. All rooms are en-suite with Jacuzzi spa bath and shower over, tea & coffee making facilities and colour T.V's.
We have a fantastic range of fresh food and drinks available to you in the mornings. This is no ordinary continental breakfast, we offer more choice, with fresh fruit, breads, cereals, meats, drinks and more.
