Kilmoon, Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare

Facilities

Description

Slieve Elva Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast is the perfect country getaway, situated in the heart of the Burren in County Clare. If you are looking for Bed & Breakfast accommodation in the West of Ireland, to get away from the hustle & bustle of daily life, or you need a base while you explore all that Co Clare has to offer, from The Burren, The Cliffs of Moher or the Aran Islands to Hill Walking, Pony Trekking, Cycling, Surfing, Golf or Fishing, then our B&B, near the famous match-making town of Lisdoonvarna, is the ideal country retreat.

Our rooms include a double, a twin, a triple and a large family room.

Your host, Gerry, is a qualified chef with many years experience in the hospitality industry. We pride ourselves on our fresh, locally sourced cooking. Breakfast in the conservatory dining room are an important part of your stay at Slieve Elva Farmhouse and you will have an unhurried and fulfilled start to your day. Our eggs are supplied daily by our free range, organic hens.

For breakfast you can choose from our varied menu.

Slieve Elva Farmhouse is ideally located for touring the well known (and the less well known) attractions of this part of the West.

The Burren in North Clare is renowned for its unusual landscape and its rich and varied flora & fauna. As a result of a unique combination of factors, Artic and Alpine plants grow side by side. The distinctive landscape includes bare limestone pavements, caves, seasonal lakes and one of the most dramatic coastlines in Ireland The Cliffs of Moher. Just 30 minutes by ferry and you can experience the beauty of The Aran Islands.

The area is also very well known for its archaeological sites, the best known monument being The Poulnabrone Dolmen. Also close by are The Aillwee Caves with the Birds of Prey demonstrations on daily.

The Burren is a walker's paradise with plenty of 'green roads' that criss-cross over the countryside. Spectacular views of the Aran Islands and the 'twelve pins' in Connemara can be enjoyed just minutes from our home.

Rates: 30 to 35 per person per night.
Children are welcome. High chairs & travel cots available.
No smoking. Pets are allowed by arrangement.
Off street parking.
