The Old Bakery within the village of Skirmett is a high quality bed and breakfast set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The B&B is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is just a short journey from Henley-on-Thames which is a lovely market town in Oxfordshire.
There are 3 guest bedrooms available which all include a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. A full English Breakfast is served in the beamed dining room until 9.30 but we're happy to oblige for any other requirements.
There are some excellent walks in the valley, especially the Thames walk across the lock to Henley. There are also some great cycling routes around Skirmett and plenty of wildlife. Red kites soar in the sky and wild deer can be seen roaming the countryside. The Vicar of Dibley and Midsomer Murders were filmed in the area.
Henley-on-Thames is a picturesque town full of history. The 13th century church, impressive town hall and market square are worth a visit. The bustling market which is held every Thursday has been in existence for many years and it is thought to have been authorised by King John. There are also many boutiques in Henley town centre which are worth browsing. There are many walks to be enjoyed along the river or if you'd prefer you can hire a boat.
