Bouverie Lodge in Nether Broughton is a beautiful B&B this is located on a farm with a difference. Our farm is home to a wonderful herd of American Bison and Red Deer & there numerous footpaths throughout the farm to give you the opportunity to see the animals up close.
Our guest rooms all have en suite shower rooms or private bathrooms, TV, DVD player, welcome tray, and hair dryers. We also welcome you to use the private guest lounge that has a large TV with Sky, games and a DVD player.
We are able to offer evening meals by prior arrangement, but we are very lucky to have many local pubs and good restaurants nearby. Should you be visiting friends, family or entertaining colleagues, we do have a private dining room, where meals for up to 12 people can be catered for. Menus are to be discussed prior to arrival.
Breakfast and any evening meals are taken in the farmhouse kitchen, where in the winter months a lovely log burner is always burning brightly. From here also, you can see our hens roaming freely in the back garden and even Ethel & Stanley our pet deer roaming in the field.
Bouverie Lodge is approximately 6 miles from the historic town of Melton Mowbray, the Rural Capital of Food & Drink, and conveniently placed for Nottingham, Loughborough and Leicester. East Midlands Airport is just 30 minutes away and major train lines into London are also 30 minutes away. Melton Mowbray is of course famous for its Pork Pie and Stilton Cheese, and whether you agree with the principles or not, it is also steeped in the history of fox hunting. Other attractions in and around the area include the National Space Centre in Leicester, Rutland Water - for the fantastic wild life and water sports, Twinlakes - a superb location for children to let their hair down, and at nearby Langar there is parachuting and quad biking. We are also lucky to have some excellent fishing lakes nearby.
We are on the edge of the wonderful, picturesque, Vale of Belvoir, which forms from parts of Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. The name Belvoir, (pronounced "Beaver"), means Beautiful View, this dates back to Norman times. It is rich in fabulous walks, and provides some very good stopping off points for wonderful ales and fine food that the area is so well known for.
