Tan House Farm Bed & Breakfast is located in a beautiful part of Gloucestershire, at Newland near Coleford. Our B&B accommodation is located within our 17th Century farm house and is a great base from which to explore the Forest of Dean.
We have 3 guest rooms available; The Gallery, The Garden Room and The Blue Room. They are all tastefully decorated and furnished and have either en suite facilities or an adjacent private bathroom.
Breakfast is served each morning in our dining room and is freshly prepared. For over 30 years we have provided guests with home cooked food which we are now well known for and have received much praise. Our chickens provide the eggs, our gardens provide the jams & jellies, of plum, quince, medlar, black and red currants. While we cannot grow the Seville oranges, we at least, make the marmalades. The ‘Gourmet’ butcher at Monmouth cures the bacon and makes the sausages. Fresh fruit and cereals are always available. As guests to our home, we all share the rather large breakfast table.
When the weather encourages, there are large gardens that extend into 14 acres of meadow and wooded copses about the house. Seats and tables are put out in the summer at your disposal.
We have welcomed visitors to the Wye Valley AONB for 34 years, many come to explore the stunning landscapes that lie along the Lower Wye Valley and to enjoy the vistas from the high wooded plateau of the Forest of Dean, or to pursue the activities offered in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Rowing, cycling, walking, climbing, the zip wires of Go Ape are nearby, as are the superb bluebell woods in the spring, spectacular protected orchid meadows and the autumnal colours of the Wye Valley are a particular joy.
