Lavenham Priory stands in 3 acres of grounds in the centre of the village. Private parking facilities are provided. Although we do not offer bed and breakfast, both properties have kitchen facilities and on arrival, guests will find a complimentary local food hamper. Dining options in Lavenham range from tea rooms, gastro pubs, bistros and fine dining restaurants. The award winning Great House Restaurant and, vibrant and welcoming Number Ten Pub and Bistro are both just a short walk from Lavenham Priory. The world famous Swan Hotel and Spa is 200 meters away.
Priory Suite - Sleeps 2. An intimate small self catering cottage ideal for couples, comprising on the ground floor a spacious sitting room with small dining area. An underground culvert that was used in medieval times has been made into an interesting feature. A magnificent hand carved oak spiral staircase leads up to the bed chamber and an opulent en suite bathroom. The bed chamber features a beautiful 4 poster bed, antique furniture, subtle lighting, TV and free Wifi. A range of all day dining facilities are available within a 2 minute walk of the property. (Please note – the Priory Suite has basic catering facilities including kitchen sink and microwave but no cooker).
Dairy Wing - Sleeps 6. An ideal for families or large groups, this property is perfect for weekend or longer stays. First floor accommodation comprises: 3 double bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom) and a separate family bathroom – all offering maximum flexibility for up to 2 families or large groups. Downstairs the real feature of the house is a 17’ x 17’ sitting / dining room with wood burning stove and patio doors leading out to an enclosed private patio garden. The house has a brand new fully equipped kitchen. There is an abundance of space and high quality fittings and furnishings throughout including a large entrance hall and downstairs bathroom.
Lavenham is widely regarded as one of the finest Medieval villages in England. John Constable was educated there and Thomas Gainsborough was born in nearby Sudbury, where you’ll find the Gainsborough Museum. Some of the prettiest villages in East Anglia are within easy travelling distance, and Newmarket, Bury St. Edmunds, Ipswich, Dedham, Long Melford and Colchester are also within reach. A variety of great places to eat are just two minutes’ walk away.
